Introducing the Yamaha Performance Hub at University of Oregon Portland

Classic Pianos, Yamaha Corporation of America, and the University of Oregon Portland have partnered to create a state-of-the-art Yamaha Hub and performance space on campus, featuring a Yamaha Disklavier DC7XENPRO. This groundbreaking instrument uses advanced technology to capture and transmit a pianist’s keystrokes and pedal movements to another Disklavier—whether across town or across the world—in real time. This allows for remote lessons, distance performances, and even virtual piano competitions, bringing musicians together like never before. Stay tuned for exciting events and opportunities at this innovative new hub!

AI in the Classroom

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming music education by offering personalized learning experiences and innovative teaching tools. Yamaha’s recent article, “AI in the Music Classroom,” explores how AI can enhance student engagement, creativity, and individualized instruction, while also addressing challenges such as equity and potential overreliance on technology. Educators are encouraged to thoughtfully integrate AI to enrich their teaching methods and support diverse learning needs.
